Dealing with Diabetes

dealing with diabetes

Do you know if you are dealing with diabetes?

These are some signs to watch for.

  • Feeling thirsty quite often
  • Having to pee frequently
  • Being excessively hungry
  • Exhausted and fatigued
  • Blurred vision
  • Cuts and Bruises that take a long time to heal
  • Tingling or numbness in your hands or feet
  • Unexplained weight loss

I have diabetes and I really hate it.

Dealing with it on a daily basis sucks.

To be very honest, I don’t deal with it very well at all. In fact, I have been hiding my head in the proverbial sand for a long time now.

I don’t follow the proper diet. Sugar is like a very addictive and very bad drug for me. I can’t seem to quit even though I know I have to give it up in order to live a long healthy life.

And how’s this working out for me?

Not very well at all!

My weight has increased by quite a bit in the past year. I am up to (dare I say it?) 222 pounds! Yet I still choose to ignore my health issues. I eat too much. I move too little. I do not check my blood sugar.

It’s time to make a change.

The thing that bothers me the most is that seats are getting tight. Like when did they make the movie theater seats smaller? And the seats on the rides at the amusement parks?

I will be flying in the fall and I don’t want to pay for an extra seat due to my fat ass. That would be mortifying!

Time for some healthy goal setting..

My goal is to get my weight under 200 pounds by the end of summer. I know I can do this. I just need to eat less and move more.

I’ll be checking in here weekly on Thursdays to let you know how it is going, the products I use, and the methods I try. I’m hoping that you all keep me accountable.

If you have any or all of these symptoms, see your doctor to get tested. Do you have diabetes? Let me know what works for you in the comments below.
