Every Child Deserves a Shot at Dreaming of the Future

If you are a parent, you know that from the time your kids are small they dream of what they want to be when they grow up. Doctors, astronauts, pilots, baseball players, and ballerinas. Their dreams change daily. I personally have a child that wants to be a “Captain-Doctor-Pilot” all at once.We as parents dream of college educations and successful careers.

Unfortunately, in many countries some parents just dream of their kids growing up. That’s it. No worrying about affording college. No worrying about braces. Or ballet lessons. Or any of the other mundane things that most parents in the U.S. worry about. They go to bed each night worrying about whether or not their child will be stricken with a preventable illness. Worry about whether or not their child will suffer and die while they watch helplessly. But most of all…

They dream of their children growing up.

One out of every 5 children worldwide lack access to vaccines. 1.5 million children die every year without these vaccines. The very vaccines that could save their lives. The sad reality is that every 20 seconds a child dies from a preventable disease.

Preventable…What an awful cause of death..Something that could have been stopped. If only they had been given a simple shot. One. Simple. Shot.

How long does it actually take to vaccinate a child? Less than a minute. But the cost?  Too overwhelming for some.

Shot at Life is an organization that hopes to help parents get those desperately needed vaccines. But they need your help.

Donate what you can. For every $20 raised one child can be vaccinated against 4 preventable diseases. Polio, Pneumococcal Disease, Measles and Rotovirus.
