I Solved a Murder Mystery (sort of)

At least I thought I solved the Murder Mystery.

Turns out I was wrong..

But I had fun and that’s what counts, right?

Now I’m sure you are wondering what I’m talking about.. Well, here’s the deal…

Last month, I was invited to attend a Murder Mystery at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Tampa. In return for letting you know all about it here, I received two complimentary Gold Circle tickets.

I had heard about these Murder Mystery Dinners but I had never attended one before. I really didn’t know what to expect, but being an adventurous soul, I went for it.

The theme for the night was

Totally 80’s! Totally Murder!

As we entered, we had our pictures taken with a few props that they had available. We are a bit more reserved in our pictures.

We were then shown to our table (lucky number 13!) and met our new team mates.  We glanced through our binder of information. Throughout the night, you are given bits of information to help solve the murder. Some of the information is important. Some of it is more or less useless. It is up to you to decide which..

The actors stayed in character all night and were over the top cheesy. But that is part of what makes it so fun! With names like Poison Rattenstein, Pat Minotaur, and Cindy Leapyear it’s obvious that you are going to have some fun.

What makes this event so great is the amount of audience participation. Before the event begins, a few audience members are selected to play characters. I loved how they also stayed in character all night. Dr. Joe King aka Dr FeelGood was excellent. I thought he was a part of the cast at first. He was really into his character.

The food served during the evening was good as well. My husband had the stuffed manicotti and I had the 15 layer lasagna. Both were excellent although the lasagna was not as pretty. (I think it tasted better though!)

We also had a lovely tiramisu for dessert. It was so good looking that I forgot to take a picture before digging right in! I admit to having zero control when it comes to tiramisu. I finished it in record time. YUM!

There were times built into the night for everyone to get up and exchange information and fish for clues from everyone in the room. It was highly entertaining to watch everyone “bribe” each other with fake money.

At the end of the evening, we as a group came to a conclusion and submitted our information. We of course were WRONG! But that’s okay. It’s part of the fun to be wrong when you make a guess. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot all night.

If you are looking to have a fun night out, be it date night, girls night or even a family night, this would be a great choice. You can check out the schedule for the Murder Mystery company online or even call them at 1-888-643-2583.

Go…Solve a Murder Mystery…and HAVE FUN!

  1. Murder mystery parties do seem like a fun thing to do especially with a lot of friends. Also, the food looked really good at this party. It was also cool that you could dress up for the party as well.
