I hope you are enjoying my Lazy Girls recipes. I developed these recipes for those times when I can’t spend much time cooking but I still want to serve my family a delicious hot meal.
I also have a host of recipes that are yummy but take a lot more time and effort. I enjoy cooking but I Hate the clean-up afterwards ; ) Eventually I will start posting other recipes. Let me know what types of food you would like to serve and I’ll come up with a recipe for ya.
Skillet Pork Chops
I use whatever pork chops are on sale for this recipe. Bones or not, thick or thin, whatever chops you have are fine.
Heat some oil or butter in a large skillet. Your choice. I use oil usually. Mainly you are just trying to keep things from sticking. I use garlic that comes pre-minced in a jar. Throw about a teaspoon or so in the heated oil. I also add in onion to this. Quite honestly, since I’m a Lazy Girl, I use dried chopped onion that comes in the spice section. Probably about a teaspoon or so of this too.
Then I add in the pork chops and brown on both sides. After they are browned I cover them with a can of broth. Whatever broth you have on hand is fine. Sometimes I use chicken broth and sometimes I use beef. Set aside about 1/4 cup of broth to thicken with flour. That way you have no lumps. Add this into the skillet and mix in. Reduce the heat to simmer and cover your skillet. Leave this on the stove for about 15 to 20 minutes.
I usually serve this with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Even though I’m a Lazy Girl, I actually mash my potatoes by hand.Weird quirk, I know.
Okay, to recap, you need:
6 to 8 pork chops
oil or butter
garlic
onion
broth (chicken or beef)
flour
Hope you enjoy!
